Family Session

***Via email we will discuss location selection, wardrobe styling tips, and address any questions you may have.

I want you to remember this time for more than just the way you all looked but for the way it FELT. We accomplish this by interacting and moving during the session as opposed to standing stiffly while smiling into the camera. Don’t worry, I will guide you. With my great understanding of natural light and my camera, we will make art together that will be cherished for generations.

Location: Via email, I will send a questionnaire that includes location options for your session. Some families prefer their home because it adds extra sentimental value to the images while others prefer an outdoor location. Click here to read a guide I wrote on selecting the perfect location for your family.

Time: The time of your session depends on the location. A session at home typically takes place at 10:00am. Based upon experience, this is when the natural light is best provided that your home has enough adequate natural light. Outdoor sessions occur either in the morning or evening. Evening sessions begin about 2 hours before sunset. Depending on the time of year, it can be late for the kiddos but the outcome is worth it.

Length of session: Your session will last no more than 1 hour.

What to wear: I want your family to look comfortable so your wardrobe should feel comfortable. Matching outfits makes it difficult to differentiate people, so I recommend coordinating your outfits instead. Check out the style guide I sent via email for some inspiration.

If you have specific questions or difficulty deciding, please email me as I am happy to help.

Props: The only prop I use is a crocheted blanket. If you have something else in mind, please do let me know.

Your children: We all know that when you tell a child to smile, it isn’t their true smile. Also, it is completely normal for kids to want to move so do not worry if you have an active child. It takes time to get children to relax in front of the camera. For the family shots, I typically direct the adults to simply “be” with their child or hold them.

Please make sure that your little ones are well rested, fed, and hydrated. You are welcome to bring snacks and water to the session, but I recommend snacks that are dry and not messy so their face stays clean. If we need to take a break during the session, we will. However, I will continue to shoot right on through it. To prepare the kids for the session, you can tell them a friend will be taking pictures of them.

Please be prepared to start on time: Because your session is scheduled according to the light, it is best to start on time.

Maternity Session

***Via email we will discuss location selection, wardrobe styling tips and address any questions you may have.

Pregnancy, in the moment, feels like it crawls by, but in reality, it will be over before you know it. Whether you have had a relatively easy or difficult pregnancy, I want to document this special time for you for exactly what it is: a miracle. I aim to document your beautiful belly, the special connection you have with your baby, and your family in a natural, relaxed way.

Newborn Session

***Via email we will discuss wardrobe styling tips and address any questions you may have.

As a mother to two, I know what it feels like in the early days and weeks of caring for a newborn. You will still be recovering from birth and trying to find a new rhythm for your family. My goal for your newborn session is to keep it casual yet real and document your family’s life as you care for your sweet little baby.

Location: Your session will take place from the comfort of your own home where your newborn is safe and you have everything you need.

Time: Your session will occur ideally within the first 2 weeks of the baby’s life. An in-home typically takes place at 10:00 am. Based upon experience, this is when the natural light is best provided that your home has enough adequate natural light. We can always adjust based upon nap schedules.

Length of session: Your session will last 60-90 minutes. This allows for adequate time to feed, change diapers, and cuddle your little one.

What to wear: The single most important consideration when you’re choosing your outfits is that you all feel comfortable and confident. Please do not feel like you need to go out and buy all new outfits for everyone. You may have everything you already need. If not, amazon or old navy have some great affordable options.

If you have specific questions or difficulty deciding, please email me as I am happy to help.
